Stephen Colbert Says ‘Free Speech Is Alive and Well’ Despite ‘Late Show’ Cancellation and more — today's scandal signal.
The world of entertainment is abuzz with controversy, creativity, and new beginnings. The cancellation of Stephen Colbert's show has sparked debate about the state of free speech, with Colbert himself weighing in to say that "free speech is alive and well." Meanwhile, other shows are finding success and new life in unexpected places - like "Mock the Week," which has found a new home on TLC after being cancelled by the BBC, and "DTF St. Louis," which has just won an Emmy for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
But it's not all good news - some stars are stepping away from their shows amid scandal, like "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" star Mikayla Matthews, who has announced she's leaving the series due to concerns over the behavior of co-star Taylor Frankie Paul. On a more positive note, the film industry is also making waves, with Flanders Cinema finding global momentum with titles that have earned honors at TIFF and Cannes, and even generating Oscar buzz. And for music fans, the Stagecoach festival has just announced its 2027 lineup, featuring headliners Garth Brooks, Riley Green, and Zach Top.
